What to Test During a 14-day Job Scheduling Trial

Evaluate a scheduling trial with normal, changed and return-Visit scenarios, a written acceptance checklist and a review of plan boundaries before migrating more work.

A real Daylane schedule with sanitised fictional example data.

Test the work your business actually performs: one normal booking, one change and one return. Record whether you can complete each workflow and what remains unclear. A trial is most useful when it answers practical questions before you migrate a large customer list or depend on a new habit.

Choose three representative scenarios

Use clearly labelled practice records and avoid sending test messages to real customers. Daylane offers a 14-day trial with paid plans afterwards. Check the features you need against the plan you intend to use, rather than assuming every trial capability belongs to every paid plan.

ScenarioTaskEvidence to record
Normal VisitCreate Customer, Location, Job and attendanceCorrect record and workable time
Changed VisitMove the existing attendanceHistory retained and new expectation clear
Return workRecord a partial outcome and plan another VisitRemaining scope and next action visible

Test the supporting handovers

Review the mobile view, customer Visit Page, a small Customer import preview and the relevant export. If you need team dispatch or recurrence, test those workflows against Pro+ and the actual intended roles.

Write down failures and ambiguities as specific questions: 'Could not find the access instruction in the assigned Visit' is more useful than 'mobile confusing'. Repeat a scenario after resolving the issue.

Make a migration decision from the results

At the end of the trial, compare the acceptance checklist with your normal week. Decide what is ready to move and what needs another process or product decision. A successful first booking does not prove that recurrence, imports and handovers are ready too.

Keep your previous records available through the transition. Start with a controlled scope and reconcile upcoming commitments before expanding.
