Give the returning person a clear account of the previous attendance and the purpose of the next one. Separate customer-reported symptoms from recorded findings and confirm required parts or equipment before booking. This guide covers scheduling and handover, not appliance diagnosis or repair instructions.
Preserve the evidence boundary
A note such as 'same issue, bring part' leaves too much to infer. The next person needs to know what was reported, what was established at the previous Visit and what remains unresolved.
| Field | Useful handover content |
|---|---|
| Customer report | Original symptom in the customer's words |
| Previous attendance | Recorded findings and work performed |
| Approved return scope | The work agreed for the next Visit |
| Readiness | Required items confirmed available |
| Access | Current contact and service Location |
| If unable to proceed | Scheduler contact and next decision |
Check assignment and preparation before offering the time
Review the replacement person's suitability through your normal business process, then check availability and travel. Confirm that the necessary work records and equipment will be available to them.
In Daylane, select the actual primary and additional assignees for the return Visit. Put the concise attendance-specific brief into the appropriate instructions rather than assuming every historical note appears in the mobile agenda.
Keep the customer promise precise
Explain the agreed purpose of the return and any remaining condition that must be resolved before attendance. Do not promise a completed repair merely because a part has arrived if other uncertainties remain.
After the return, record what was completed and whether the overall Job can close. If another dependency remains, give it an owner and update time so a change of technician does not break the follow-up chain.
