Review availability in layers: usual working time, dated exceptions, existing Visits and the journeys between them. A person can be inside working hours and still unable to attend a proposed Job. Confirm every required participant before offering a shared Visit.
Start with hours and exceptions
Daylane's team member page shows Recurring Availability and Unavailable time. Owners and schedulers can edit working days and start/end times or add dated unavailable blocks. A team member can view their own availability but does not use those management controls.
| Layer | Example | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Usual hours | 08:00–16:00 | Proposed work must be reviewed within the day |
| Unavailable block | 12:00–13:00 | Lunch-period appointment removes that time |
| Existing Visit | 10:00–11:00 | Cannot assume the hour is free |
| Travel | 25 minutes after the Visit | 11:00 departure does not allow 11:00 arrival elsewhere |
Compare all assigned people
For a two-person Visit, repeat the check for both people. A business-wide empty space does not establish individual capacity. Use the team schedule to compare the day and inspect the actual Visit details where needed.
When custom availability is not set, Daylane uses the business's ordinary weekday hours as the baseline. Confirm that this matches the person's real arrangement rather than assuming a default is an agreed roster.
Treat warnings as a decision prompt
Review warnings about unavailable time, outside-hours work, assignment overlap or travel. If an exceptional arrangement is workable, record the checked reason where the scheduling form requires it. Do not use an override as a substitute for contacting the person.
After saving, verify the time and assignment in the current schedule. Confirm the customer-facing arrangement only after the required people and site access have been checked.
Keep personal unavailability separate from customer bookings
