What to Review Before Marking a Job Complete

Check agreed scope, Visit outcomes, unresolved actions and customer promises before closing a Daylane Job, with a practical completion decision checklist.

Review the whole agreed scope before marking a Job complete. Confirm what each Visit achieved, resolve active attendances and identify any remaining work or customer promise. Closing the Job should describe the work outcome accurately, not simply remove an item from the backlog.

Check scope and attendance together

A Job with several Visits may include an assessment, a partial service and a return. Read the outcomes together so the latest completed Visit does not hide an earlier unresolved task.

QuestionIf unresolved
Has the agreed work been completed?Keep the remaining scope visible
Are any Visits scheduled or in progress?Review and resolve each attendance
Are notes clear enough to explain the outcome?Add factual clarification
Was a customer update promised?Assign and complete that communication
Is invoicing hand-off needed?Prepare it after the completion decision

Use the closure action for the right outcome

In Daylane, owners and schedulers can close Jobs. The completion action requires active Visits to be completed or cancelled first. If the application refuses closure, inspect the relevant attendance rather than assuming the message is administrative noise.

If the customer declines remaining work, record that decision clearly. Do not describe declined work as completed. Choose the Job outcome that accurately reflects the scope and the business's process.

Verify the saved result and next handover

After closing, check the Job's displayed status and history. If you prepare a Free Invoice App hand-off, review its copied fields separately; a completed Job is not proof that an invoice exists.

During the next backlog review, confirm the Job no longer appears as open work. Investigate discrepancies using the actual record rather than creating a duplicate Job to make a list look correct.
